File extension hex information
File extension HEX identifies a Hex dump file and has two file associations; the Hexadecimal Source File and the BinHex Encoded File. The Hexadecimal Source file association fall sin the category of Misc files. This file holds configuration and settings information or any other kind of data saved using a hexadecimal format. HEX files can either be stored in a text or binary format. However, users should note that HEX files stored in the binary format are only opened using the hex-editing applications while the hex files that are text-based can only be opened and edited by use of any text editing applications.
